Western Surety E-Services: A Closer Look

In recent e-zines, we’ve extolled the many benefits of utilizing Western Surety’s E-Services platform. Now that we understand the basics of this system and how it’s designed to simplify the process of issuing bonds, let’s dig a little deeper into its capabilities and functionality.

Online Account Manager

Think of E-Services as your all-in-one, online account manager. As a broker logging in, you are entering into a portal where you can access all types of information. The introduction page lists all brokerage personnel who hold Power of Attorney, which should be kept up to date. This area also includes a highlighted link that will lead to a list of all accounts that have no authorizations or have an upcoming expiry. As well, any commercial bonds that are due for renewal can be found here. Data entered and saved in the portal is directly sent to the assigned underwriter for the account. This gives our underwriters the ability to respond quickly to urgent requests.

The contractor profile page highlights the client’s details, general account alerts, broker authorizations, indemnity details, premium statistics, rates, and a historical listing of all issued bonds. There is also a stored copy of all issued bonds that can be searched by bond number for a relevant invoice. Using the portal saves time as premium calculations are done automatically.

Commercial E-Services

Commercial surety bond renewals can even be processed from the E-Services portal. Short-form application wordings are available on the system. Using the portal for issuing commercial bonds reduces errors and saves time.

Did You Know?

  • Bond requests that may be missing some information can still be submitted. This allows the underwriter to see the request and address any possible issues.
  • Brokers are able to edit a bond up to 72 hours after submitting.

The major benefit of this system is that all the important contractor information and bond issuance tools you need to provide exceptional service to your clients are contained in one place. Simply by logging in and with a few clicks of the mouse, a broker is able to access complete details regarding a contractor or to issue a bid bond, for example. As we are constantly striving to make E-services better, we encourage you to contact us with your feedback and suggestions.
